Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Firman Dwi Cahyono survived as an F-16 aircraft crashed after it failed to take off at the Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Force Base, eastern Jakarta, Thursday.

Pilot Dwi Cahyono, the commander of the Roesmin Noerjadin Air Force Bases 16 Air Squadron Udara in Pekanbaru, Riau, ejected from the aircraft as the accident occurred.

Cahyono has clocked over two thousand flight hours on the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

The F-16 failed to take off and caught fire due to an engine failure.
