Banda Aceh, Aceh (ANTARA) - The strengthening of Pancasila values is crucial in facing global threats, Deputy Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), Lieutenant General Mohamad Sabrar Fadhilah stated here on Monday.

"We must always instill the national values (of Pancasila) to cooperate in facing various threats and challenges," Fadhilah remarked.

He explained that the current increasing global threats affect all nations, as the world has become interconnected.

Fadhilah cited as an example the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and economic competition between the United States and China that impact living conditions in Indonesia.

"The pain there is felt here because there are supply chain delays and impacts on other economic sectors. This is what we must watch out for," he remarked.

Furthermore, the Indonesian nation should watch out for internal threats that may arise during the upcoming election season that is likely to increase public tensions.

"The elections naturally can increase tensions, but we hope that they will accommodate and run democracy (instead) in accordance with our four fundamental consensuses," he stated.

Hence, in supporting Indonesia as a nation that coexists with other nations, Lemhannas strives to re-strengthen the values of Pancasila to reinforce national resilience and the progress of the country.

"The essence of these national values is understanding and reminding about the four fundamental consensuses, namely Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity), national resilience, and so on," he pointed out.

He expects that all emerging global threats can be faced together with the strengthening and collective understanding of the Pancasila values.

"The hope is that by understanding it along with the dynamic threats, everything can go well towards a better Indonesia," Fadhilah affirmed.

Earlier, the Pancasila Ideology Education Agency (BPIP) and the National Resilience Institute signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Jakarta on Thursday (January 12, 2023) to collaborate in strengthening the Pancasila Ideology to all stakeholders and the Indonesian people.
