There is an indication of the presence of other suspects."Jakarta (ANTARA News) -The National Police Detective Board (Bareskrim) has found an alleged abuse of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds worth Rp126 billion during a search conducted at the Pertamina Foundation on Tuesday.
Based on the analysis of documents and the witnesses testimonies, the alleged abuse of CSR funds is related to the budget allocation worth Rp251 billon from 2012 to 2014 for a tree-planting movement, Sobat Bumi scholarships, Sobat Bumi School, and Pertamina football school, Director of Bareskrims Special Economic Crimes Brig. Gen. Victor Edison Simanjutak stated here at the Police Headquarters.
"But, it is the BPKP (State Comptroller Board), which will determine the amount of losses incurred by the state. We only investigate it (the alleged abuse of CSR fund)," he affirmed.
During the search, Bareskrim conducted an investigation on the treasury, planning, and archive divisions at the foundation. It found several documents related to volunteers and tens of millions of trees, which are part of the foundations project, he revealed.
"Right now, we need to check the actual presence of volunteers. There is an indication that they are fictitious. We also need to crosscheck their payment documents whether they were paid by cash or a fund transfer. If they were paid by cash, then who have received it? If they were paid through a fund transfer, then into which accounts were the fund transferred," he noted.
The search was conducted based on a report sent to Bareskrim. However, before receiving the report, Bareskrim had conducted an investigation for the past two months.
"Five witnesses have been questioned. There is an indication of the presence of other suspects," he added.
