Tommy was defeated in 54 minutes making the record of the meet between the two at 2-5 in favor of the Chinese player.
"He is more prepared with the change in my playing pattern. When I redirected my strike he knew how to anticipate it," Tommy said after the game, as reported in the official site of the All Indonesia Badminton Association (PBSI).
Tommy met Lin Dan at the Indonesia Open 2015, where he won 19-21, 21-8, and 21-6.
He would continue preparing himself for the South Korea Open 2015 in the third week of this month, he said.
Tommys loss against Lin Dan dashed Indonesias hopes of seeing one of its players in the final of the tournament, as its mens doubles pair Angga Pratama/Ricky Karanda was also defeated by South Korean Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong 16-21, 16-21 in 48 minutes in the semi-finals.
