The special anti corruption court found Waryono guilty of causing the state a loss of Rp11.124 billion.
He was also found to have accepted US$284,862 in bribe money from private company and bribed lawmaker Sutan Bhatoegana with US$140,000 to approve budget for the ministry.
"The suspect was found guilty of committing corruption and graft," presiding judge Artha Theresia said here on Wednesday.
The punishment was lighter than 9 years with a fine of Rp200 million as demanded by the prosecutor.
Waryono said he would discuss with his lawyer whether he would appeal the verdict or not. (*)
