The best university ranking list is based on an assessment of the five indicators of research conducted by academicians of the university.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The University of Indonesia (UI) figures among the worlds best 800 universities in 2015-2016 rankings, according to the Times Higher Education (THE) magazine.

A press release received by ANTARA here on Thursday stated that UI is the only Indonesian university included in the world universities ranking by THE.

THE magazine, which was published on September 30, 2015, put UI at rank 601 among 800 of the worlds best universities in 70 countries.

In addition to Indonesia, 29 new countries figured in the list of THE, such as Malaysia, Ghana, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Latvia, Oman, Qatar and Ukraine.

The best university ranking list is based on an assessment of the five indicators of research conducted by academicians of the university.

The five indicators are the performance of teaching (learning and teaching) with 30 percent weightage, research (number and reputation) 30 percent weightage, research citations 30 percent weightage, international coverage (staff, students and research) of 7.5 percent weightage and cooperation industrial 2.5 percent weightage.

The success of the UI is expected to motivate other universities throughout Indonesia to become the worlds best universities.

UI is also committed to being a university which can produce beneficial research work, and attract productive and dedicated researchers, teachers, experts and graduates.(*)
