Following the imposition of a state of emergency in the country on November 13, 2015, the French government stepped up security measures in the country and tightened checks at the border points with neighboring countries, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry stated in its press release here on Monday.
Public transportation remains open in Paris, but travel delays due to increased inspection at bus stations, airports and seaports should be anticipated, it said.
Referring to press statement issued by the Indonesian Foreign Ministry on November 14 regarding terrorist act in Paris, it has now issued a travel advisory (to those planning to leave for France or travel through France.)
Firstly, the Foreign Affairs Ministry has recommended that citizens who want to visit France should be more alert and monitor the progress and the ongoing security situation.
Secondly, the citizens who are currently in France, have to remain vigilant and avoid crowded places.
Thirdly, citizens who are in France should also monitor the development of the situation on the official website of the French government and adhere to the appeal as well as policies imposed by the local government.
Fourthly, the citizens are also recommended to follow the information disseminated by the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Paris and the Indonesian Consulate General Marseille, from time to time.
Fifth, the citizens in France are recommended to always carry identity cards or passports while traveling and carry important telephone numbers at all times.
Furthermore, in case of emergency assistance, the citizens can contact the Indonesian Embassy in Paris and the Consulate General in Marseille at the address and telephone number as follows:
