President Joko Widodo has expressed his readiness to attend the festival, Rector of the Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB), Prof Herry Suhardiyanto, said at a press conference here on Friday.
The head of the state might be present during the opening of the festival, or at the carnival, he said.
The organizing committee will invite 48 district heads to the festival to encourage them to boost fruit cultivation in their regions.
"We hope that the President is there at the carnival. Its very important to have his presence," the Rector said.
The theme of the festival is, "Revolution of Small and Medium Scale Nusantara Fruit Cultivation for the Welfare of the Indonesian Nation."
The festival will feature a number of activities, such as a flower and fruit photo contest, flower arrangement, a childrens fashion show, a drawing contest, and a dance contest.(*)
