Combination of a number of similar activities or development programs reduced the budget to only Rp2.2 trillion, the governor better known with the name of Ahok, said here on Tuesday.
The largest spending saves is from the tourism and culture service, he said.
"We cut the budget for various festivals. A festival could cost up to Rp10 billion," he said.
The fund raise from efficiency would be used more important sectors such as to finance construction of low cost apartment houses and to buy heavy equipment of the state-owned toll road developer and operator Bina Marga, he said.
"Part of the money could also be used to pay workers building infrastructure and public facilities," he said.(*)
