Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has urged the House of Representatives Ethics Tribunal (MKD) to take into account the publics aspirations while arriving at a decision on the Freeport audio recording case.

"Listen to the voice of the public. Listen to the community," the president told members of the press after attending the presentation of the Public Corporate Information Openness Award here on Tuesday.

Jokowi remarked that he always monitored the hearings of the MKD, which had attempted to uncover whether House Speaker Setya Novanto had violated the code of ethics concerning his recorded statements on the work contract of copper and gold mining company PT Freeport Indonesia.

"I always follow (the hearing process). I want the MKD to evaluate the existing facts. See the facts," the president emphasized. (*)
