Ramli met Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium Didier Reynders for talks on cooperation in the fields of maritime infrastructure, energy, fishery industry, and trade as well as regional cooperation, according to a press statement made available to ANTARA here on Wednesday.
Prior to the meeting in Belgium, Ramli had discussed matters with Belgian Ambassador to Indonesia Patrick Herman in Jakarta related to the two countries commitment to building stronger maritime cooperation. At the meeting, the Belgian government had hinted its interest to develop maritime cooperation with Indonesia.
Known as a country with a sound track record in seaport management, Belgium is reportedly interested in Indonesias maritime infrastructure development projects.
Meanwhile, Ramli was one of the speakers at the high-level round table conference during which he presented a paper titled "Indonesia and emerging economies: conditions, conditionalities, and consequences of international funding." (*)
