During the search conducted at the ministry on Merdeka Utara Street, the KPK investigators seized several documents related to the construction of the IPDN campus, acting chief of the KPKs public relations bureau Yuyuk Andriati stated during a press briefing here on Wednesday.
Besides the ministry, the KPK also searched the office of state construction company PT Hutama Karya on Iskandarsyah Street in South Jakarta, the office of Bina Karya on Major General D.I. Panjaitan, and the office of PT Arkitek on Tanah Abang Street V, Central Jakarta.
"The search started at 10 a.m. local time and ended at 8 p.m. local time. During the search operations conducted at four different locations, we seized several documents and hard disks," she noted.
The anti-graft body has named the official of the Financial Administration and Asset Management Center of the Secretariat General of the Home Affairs Ministry and the general manager of the building division of PT Hutama Karya as suspects in the alleged graft case.
The two are charged with violating the anti-corruption law. If found guilty, they can be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison and be fined up to Rp1 billion.
The graft case has inflicted Rp34 billion in losses to the state. The project is valued at Rp125 billion. (*)
