Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta Office of Cooperative Micro Small Medium Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP) will soon build the "Langgeng Jakarta Culinary Center" at the Jakarta Fair Ground in Kemayoran, according to KUMKMP spokesman Irwandi.

"This year we will build the Lenggang Jakarta culinary center in Kemayoran. We have set a target to complete the development of the culinary center before the annual Jakarta Fair this year," Irwandi remarked here Saturday.

The financing for the construction of the culinary specialty area will not be through the Regional Budget (APBD) of Jakarta, but from the private sector, according to him.

"The development funds of Lenggang Jakarta Culinary Center in Kemayoran will not come from the Jakarta regional budget but from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs," Irwandi said.

Furthermore, for the moment he still continues to collect data on the number of street vendors who will be accommodated in the Langgeng Jakarta Culinary Center, Irwandi added.

"In addition to data collection, the street vendors will also be given training and coaching in advance, so that the foods and beverages they serve do not contain hazardous materials," he noted.

Before the food vendors are allowed to sell the foods and drinks at the Lenggang Jakarta Culinary Center, they will be required to have certificate from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

As is known, before it will be built in Kemayoran, the Jakarta Lenggang Culinary Center was first established in the tourist area of Monas, Central Jakarta, where visitors enjoy a variety of foods and beverages.

The transaction method applied in the culinary center is not cash but electronic money in the form of cards, known as non-cash transactions method, Irwandi said.(*)
