Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has expressed hope that the All Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) problem could be settled before the congress of the World Soccer Association (FIFA) takes place.

"We hope before the upcoming FIFA congress in May, it can be settled," said President Jokowi after watching the Bhayangkara Cup final match at the Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on Sunday afternoon.

The government will take a number of reform steps and coordination with FIFA.

Jokowi also said that the government has had a meeting with FIFA officials to solve the Indonesian Soccer Associations problem.

Earlier, Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi has replied the request for a soccer associations hearing.

In the letter, the minister stated that he is willing to conduct a hearing with soccer association as soon as possible.

Bhayangkara Cup is an Indonesian Soccer tournament initiated by the State Police as a continuation of the success of the previously held Presidents Cup and Sudirman Cup.(*)
