"The Ethiopian SOEs minister wants to gain an understanding from Indonesia on how we manage corporations with regard to the law and restructuring of SOE," Riza Primadi, special staff of the Minister of SOEs, stated here on Friday.
During the visit, the Ethiopian delegation has enquired about the structure and operations of SOEs and their relationship with the Ministry of SOEs as the shareholder.
"The Ethiopian Ministry of SOEs was formed just eight months ago, and the Ethiopian ambassador to Indonesia has served in the country for just a month," Riza noted.
"The point is they really want to learn a lot from Indonesia," Riza stated.
In addition to directly gaining knowledge, Ethiopia has also invited Indonesian SOEs to start businesses in the country, with a population of 90 million.
"They want Indonesian state enterprises to expand their operations in the country to invest in infrastructure projects related to the construction of roads, ports, cement factories, airlines, and telecommunications," Riza remarked.
During the three-day visit in Indonesia, the Ethiopian delegation also met the directors of PT Angkasa Pura II, the Indonesian state-owned airport services company, and visited the Terminal III of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport. In addition, the delegation also visited Gambir Station in Jakarta and Tanjung Priok Seaport.
