"Few medical doctors, nurses, sanitation workers and nutritionists and dentists are willing to serve in remote areas," the minister said here on Wednesday.
She suggested that health workers in remote areas should be installed civil servants immediately to encourage them to serve in isolated areas.
After opening a workshop and a national working meeting of the Indonesian Association of Sanitarians (HAKLI), the minister said there are 9,532 units of health centers all over Indonesia.
Inventory would be made of the number of their paramedics, she added.
She said the country has few sanitarians. (*)
