Tourism promotion is a continuous process."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia is the first Asian nation to be selected as a partner country at the 25th International Tourism Fair for Hotels and Catering being held in Budva, Montenegro, on April 21-23, 2016.

"Tourism promotion is a continuous process. Being a partner country at this exhibition is only the first round in the huge leaps in the relations between Indonesia and Montenegro to intensify cooperation," Indonesian Ambassador to Montenegro Harry RJ Kandou noted in a press statement received by ANTARA News here on Friday.

Kandou pointed out that Montenegro, located in Central Europe, had a well-developed tourism sector.

In 2015, Montenegro received some 1.7 million tourists, which was almost three times the population of the country.

The tourism sector contributes 70 percent of the state revenue.

Therefore, the presence of Indonesia in Montenegro will not only help to attract tourists but will also encourage "business-to-business" cooperation, especially in the tourism sector, the ambassador stated.

The Indonesian pavilion themed "Wonderful Indonesia" showcased maritime travel at the exhibition, the ambassador added.

Every visitor, who stopped by, had an opportunity to enjoy an overview of the various Indonesian travel experiences.

The Indonesian pavilion also offered specialty coffee and traditional art performances, such as a dance form from Sumatra.

On April 21, the Indonesian Embassy held a reception by inviting the business and media community of Montenegro. The event has attracted several travel agents from Montenegro to cooperate with their Indonesian counterparts.
