Eighteen students of the university hailing from various countries - Germany, Norway, South Africa, Tridad-Tobago, Brazil, Russia and Britain met the governor at the City Hall here on Thursday.
The 18 students headed by Dr Benny Tjahjono and Dr Denyse Julien fired the governor with questions about his vision and his day to day activities during the meeting of around an hour.
Typically Ahok answered all questions with ease, straightforwardly answered more then 10 questions ranging from traffic jams to political issue about his preparation ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in 2017.
Dr Benny Tjahjono told Antara news agency the visit by the post graduate students of Logistics and Supply Chain Management to the City Hall was part of a study tour of various companies, factories , state companies and government agencies in the city.
As students of logistics and supply chain management, they wanted to know how Ahok plans to cope with the traffic jams that hamper logistics and supply of goods to the end users.
Ahok said the city is building more flyovers and plans to utilize its many river for city transport as used by a number of countries in Europe.
The governor told the students about the hot political climate ahead of the 2017 election , and how he had to answer his critics and political foes, who look set to overthrow him with any means.
In answer to question about investment climate in Jakarta, Ahok said Jakarta is chosen over other cities in ASEAN as it is "very easy to do business in Jakarta."
The city administration has simplified the licensing procedure, he said, adding it took only 43 days to secure business license from 135 days earlier.
After the questions and answer meeting Ahok showed the student around his working office and the Jakarta Smart City lounge.(*)
