Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - Police personnel in West Java Provincial city of Bandung have confiscated 2,400 bottles of unlicensed liquor during a raid in the Cidadap sub-district, a police officer stated.

Chief of Bandung city police precinct Senior Commissioner Winarto told the press here on Tuesday that the raid to check sale of unlicensed liquor was held ahead of the fasting month of Ramadhan.

In addition, the raid was also aimed to check criminal activity associated with liquor drinking.

"We are trying to prevent bad effect, including criminal offenses, caused by alcoholic drinks," he stressed, hoping that the routine raid will make the communitys life more comfortable.(*)
