Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has left Jakarta for Nagoya, Japan, to attend an outreach meeting during the G7 summit on Friday.

Presidential communication team member Ari Dwipayana stated here on Thursday that Jokowis visit to Japan was to meet the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who will host the G7 summit.

"In Japan, the Indonesian head of state will attend the outreach meeting of the G7 summit in Ise-Shima, about a two-hour ride from Nagoya," Dwipayana revealed.

The presidential communication team member remarked that President Jokowi will be one of the speakers at the outreach meeting of the G7 summit, and he will focus on issues, such as stability and prosperity.

The outreach meeting will comprise two sessions, with the first to be held to discuss issues related to regional stability and prosperity, and the president has been requested to be one of the speakers.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi had stated that Indonesias participation in the G7 summit was aimed at attending the outreach meeting on the sidelines of the event.

The minister also informed that the second session of the outreach meeting will discuss sustainable development goals 2030.

According to the minister, Jokowi will also hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Abe, the president of Sri Lanka, and the president of France on the sidelines of the main event.

"We have also received a courtesy call from the prefecture governor of Ise-Shima, where Nagoya city is located," the minister stated.
