“Around 500 veterans joined this activity. We are very glad and proud to have the opportunity to take them on a city tour, highlighting how their sacrifices contributed to Jakarta’s progress,” said Ayu Wardhani, Head of PT Transjakarta’s Public Relations Department.
The celebration began with a parade from the National Monument (Monas) to the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, where the veterans boarded 10 Transjakarta buses headed to the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area.
Wardhani added that the capital has included veterans among 15 eligible groups in Transjakarta’s Free Service Card program to support their mobility.
“Hopefully, we can continue our heroes’ struggle and help advance the country through simple steps, such as using public transportation,” she said.
