Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo set up a clash with countrymen Angga Pratama/Ricky Karanda Suwardi in the mens doubles final of the Australian Open Badminton 2016 on Sunday.

Marcus/Kevin defeated Liu Cheng/Zheng Siwei from China 21-17, 21-11 in the semifinal round on Saturday.

The seventh-seeded duo's clash with Angga Pratama and Ricky Karanda Suwardi in the final, assures Indonesia of at least one title at the badminton event.

Angga/Ricky went to the final round after a straight sets win against their countrymen Berry Angriawan/Rian Saputro 21-16, 21-14.

Marcus/Kevin led from the start against Liu/Zheng scoring 11-8, 15-10, 16-12 and ended up winning the first set 21-17.

In the second set Liu/Zheng had an opportunity to lead 5-4, but Marcus/Kevin turned the game around and led the game 8-6, and continued leading14-18, 16-9, 18-11 to finally win the set and match.

Chinese mixed doubles pair Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong set up an all-Chinese clash to meet their compatriots Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen in the final.

Lu/Huang reached the final beating Peng Soon Chan/Liu Ying Goh from Malaysia 21-15, 21-12 while Zheng/Chen marched into the finals after beating Indonesian pair Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto 19-21, 21-11, 21-16.

In the men's singles final, Denmarks Hans Kristian Vittinghus would meet Jeon Hyeok Jin from South Korea, who defeated Anthony Ginting in the semifinals.

Chinas Sun Yu set up a clash with India's Saina Nehwal in the women's singles final, after beating Chinese stablemate Li Xuerui.

Indonesias Greysia Polii/Nitya Krishinda Maheswari will meet Bao Yixin/Chen Qingchen from China in the women's doubles final.
