Solo, C Java (ANTARA News) - The Central Java police, on the basis of a DNA test, has confirmed the identity of the suicide bomber, who had blown himself up at the Surakarta Police Resort Office, as Nur Rohman (31).

The Chief of the Central Java Police, Inspector General Condro Kirono, said here on Monday that the DNA of the suspect matched to the extent of 99 percent to his fathers profile.

Identified as Nur Rohman, alias Wiknyo Wiyono, the suicide bomber was a resident of RT 01 RW 12, Sangkrah Village, Pasar Kliwon Subdistrict of Solo or Surakarta.

"The fingerprints have also matched. His wife, Siti Aminah, had also confirmed that the suspect was her husband," Kirono noted.

Police investigation and interviews of 26 witnesses revealed that the bomb was exploded by the suspect on Tuesday (July 5), one day before the Muslims Eid Holiday, and was made using a rice cooker as the outer case. It was categorized as a low explosive device.

The bomber was believed to be linked to the Bekasi terrorist network.

"The anti-terror squad, Densus 88, of the National Police has been tracking this terrorist network," Kirono informed.

Nur Rohman was one of most wanted men affiliated to Bekasi. Police had arrested seven suspects but Rohman had managed to flee.

Rohmans body will be handed over to the family for burial this Monday in Polokarto, Sukoharjo District.(*)
