The president installed Commissioner General Suhardi Alius, who was earlier the first secretary of the National Resilience Institute, as the chief of BNPT, and Penny Kusumastuti Lukito as the BPOM chief.
Penny had earlier served as the top official planner at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas.

The inauguration of Suhardi and Penny as the BNPT and BPOM chiefs was preceded by an oath-taking ceremony led by the president.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Health Minister Nila Moeloek, National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian, Chairman of the Regional Representatives Council Irman Gusman, House Deputy Speaker Fadli Zon, Deputy Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission Basaria Panjaitan, Peoples Consultative Assembly Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, and Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama.(*)
