Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta traffic police officers will issue written warnings to motorists who are found violating an odd-even license plate policy during its trial on July 27.

"Officers will give blanks of written warning to violators," chief of the guidance and law enforcement sub-directorate of the traffic directorate at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Adjunct Chief Commissioner Budiyanto said here on Sunday.

The traffic police officers will not ticket motorists who violate the policy during its trial, he said.

They will give red blanks to motorists who are found violating the policy and send the other blanks to the companies where the motorists work, he said.

The officers will take legal measures against motorists who are found using fake vehicle documents, he said.

He said officers of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police and the Jakarta City Transportation Office will supervise intersections where the odd-even police plate policy are enforced.

In addition, patrol officers will also help monitor vehicles passing through odd-even police plate lanes, he said.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police and the Jakarta City Transportation Office will familiarize the public with the odd-even police plate policy from June 26 to July 26.

The trail will last from July 27 to August 26 and the official implementation will start from August 27 this year until the electronic road pricing (ERP) is introduced.(*)
