Sopita Tanasan of Thailand won the gold medal, Sri Wahyuni took the silver and Japans Hiromi Miyake, competing in her fourth Games, won the bronze, on Saturday (Sunday in Indonesia).
Sri Wahyuni recorded a total lifting of 192 kg, Tanasan lifted 200 kg, and Hiromi 188 kg.
The three Asian female athletes competed fiercely in the sport event held in Riocentro stadium.
Earlier, Wahyuni tried to lift 115 kg in clean and jerk for gold medal, but she failed.
"Sri Wahyuni has made a lot of progress particularly after training in South Africa last month," Indonesian weightlifting manager Alamsyah Wijaya said.
Indonesian Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi, Chairman of the Indonesia Olympic Committee Erick Thohir and Chairman of the Indonesian Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Bodybuilding Association (PABBSI) Rosan Ruslani were present during the weightlifting competition.(*)
