"The number of flags symbolize the Indonesian independence achieved on August 17 in 1945," Tanjungpura Military Command Spokesperson Colonel Tri Rana Subekti said here on Tuesday.
The flags will be installed at a predetermined point, starting from Temajuk Village, Sambas District, to Nanga Badau, Kapuas Hulu District.
"The flag raising ceremony will be carried out at the border security post," Tri said.
Community figures, youth, religious and traditional leaders will declare a statement on defending the state during the ceremony.
"The statement will be handed over to the commander," Tri remarked.
He pointed out that the flag-raising will start on August 13 and continue till August 17.
The ceremony will also involve trail bike lovers, who come from the island of Java. The group will join the community trail bike in West Kalimantan.
"The community trail bike will gather at Temajuk Village on August 12," he added.
"The lifting will involve 350 people and 600 military personnel serving in the border regions," Tri concluded.(*)
