"The boat capsized after being hit by huge waves due to bad weather. So far, 10 bodies of the victims were taken to Tanjungpinang Public Hospital," Sapril, a local inhabitant, said here, Sunday.
The weather was very bad as there were strong wind and rains when the accident happened, Sapril quoted one of the survivors, Said, as saying.
Of the ten bodies, four have been identified, while the identification process of the six others is still going on.
Said, an inhabitant of Penyengat Isle, said there were 17 passengers on board of the ill-fated boat, when it sailed from Penyengat Isle toward Tanjungpinang.
The local Search and Rescue team and several local volunteers are still looking for the missing passengers.(*)
