Pekanbaru, Riau (ANTARA News) - Commander of Air Force Operations Command I, Rear Marshal Yuyu Sutisna, said a F16C/D Fighting Falcon Block 52ID aircraft will soon be included in the Roesmin Nurjadin air bases fleet in Pekanbaru, Riau province.

"The F16C/D will be replacing the F16A/B," Yuyu said here on Friday.

He said currently, the F16C/D Fighting Falcon Block 52ID aircraft is still in the Iswahyudi Air Base, Madiun (East Java) for installation of air brakes or establishment.

"Later, the A/B type will be taken to Madison and the C/D type will be immediately placed here," he added.

Roesmin Nurjadin air base Commander, Air Commodore Henri Alfiandi, welcomed the placement of the F16C/D Fighting Falcon Block 52ID in Pekanbaru.

"The fighter aircraft is very advanced, and has been upgraded with Block 52," Henri said.

Roesmin Nurjadin air base has two air squadrons of 12 and 16. The Air Squadron 12 is reinforced by Hawk 100/200. (*)
