We also want to hear the views of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs related to dual citizenship."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Foreign Affairs Minister Retno LP Marsudi attended a working meeting with Commission I of the House of Representatives to discuss the protection of Indonesian migrant workers, among other issues.

Based on the agenda submitted by Chairman of Commission I Abdul Kharis Almasyhari here on Wednesday, the House expected to receive a report on the governments efforts to protect 177 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims being held by the immigration officials in the Philippines for using fake Philippine passports and nine Indonesians taken hostage by armed groups in the southern Philippines.

The meeting was also scheduled to discuss the state of Indonesian students after the failed coup in Turkey in July.

On Aug. 26, two Indonesian students detained by the Turkish security forces since Aug. 11 were finally released.

The two female students were arrested for their suspected involvement in the Hizmet/FETO organization.

The two Indonesian students identified as Dwi Puspita Ari Wijayanti and Yumelda Ulan Afrilian were released on Aug. 25 after it was revealed that they were not part of the Hizmet/FETO organization, Head of the Indonesian Citizen Protection Directorate General from the Foreign Ministry Lalu Muhammad Iqbal stated.

The Turkish government had accused the organization for being the mastermind behind the failed military coup on July 15.

Both Indonesian students were handed over by the Turkish prosecutor to a consulate official in the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara who had traveled to the city of Bursah where the two were held.

The students are currently staying in the ambassadors residence in Ankara.

In addition, the House was keen to hear the governments statement related to global issues, including the South China Sea dispute.

"We also want to hear the views of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs related to dual citizenship," Almasyhari remarked.

Several officials of the directorate general of the Foreign Affairs Ministry also attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, some 10 members of Commission I also took part in the assembly.
