Concerning the Hajj pilgrimage, President Jokowi requested for additional quota and for a possibility of being able to use other countries` unused quota.
Hangzhou (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) held a bilateral meeting with Saudi Deputy Prime Minister concurrently Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud on the sidelines of the 11th G20 Summit, here, Sunday.

The Head of State was accompanied Foreign Affairs Minister Retno LP Marsudi and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung in the meeting.

Jokowi and the Saudi Deputy Crown Prince discussed cooperation in economic and Hajj pilgrimage quota.

Saudi is interested in massively investing in the fields of housing for low-income people, tourism, and refinery in Indonesia, according to the Prince.

"The term that His Excellency used is mega investment," Minister Retno Marsudi said.

The Saudi government has appointed Ahmad Al Katif to discuss economic cooperation with Indonesia, she added.

Concerning the Hajj pilgrimage, President Jokowi requested for additional quota and for a possibility of being able to use other countries unused quota.

The President informed the Deputy Crown Prince that many Muslims living in certain Indonesian regions have to wait for over 20 years to be able to go to Saudi Arabia for Hajj Pilgrimage due to restricted Hajj quota.

The Prince said he would assign the Saudi Foreign Minister to deal with the problem of Hajj quota for Indonesia.

The Saudi King is scheduled to visit Indonesia for closer cooperation between the two countries.(*)
