Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Commission II of the House of Representatives and the government through the Home Affairs Ministry, had agreed to raise financial assistance for political parties in line with the law.

The Commission II and the government agreed to increase the financial assistance and the amount is in lined with the law regulation," Chairman of Commission II Rambe Kamarul Zaman said at a working meeting with the Home Affairs Ministry said here on Monday.

Rambe said the Commission II wanted that the assistance for political parties is in line with the law.

He said the Commission II could not set the amount that it is entirely up to the government.

The politician of the Golkar party said the financial assistance will be used for political education.

Rambe , the meeting also ended with an agreement on the budget ceili8ng of the Home Affairs Ministry at Rp3.4 trillion in 2017.

The increase in financial assistance is also expected to reduce the possibility of parties using illegally raised fund to finance their operation. (*)
