Sampit, C Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - A group of armed people abducted four residents while working in an oil palm plantation in East Kotawaringin district, Central Kalimantan, on Sunday.

"They were abducted while they were in plasma oil palm plantation owned by Petak Sembuyan cooperative in the concession of palm oil company PT Hutan Sawit Lestari (HSL)," Aldi, friend of the abduction victims, said.

Aldi alleged that PT HSL had hired police officers to kidnap his friends identified as Roby, Biking, Ola and Suriani.

An angry mob of more than 100 villagers came to the HSL office to find their friends but to no avail.

They could not control their anger, with some of them vandalizing and occupying PT HSL office.

"We will not leave the PT HSLs office if the four abductees are not set free and are not returned to their families," he said.(*)
