The 16-year old male swimmer broke the 01.12 seconds ASEAN record of the Singaporean athlete, Tan Eng Kiong, by posting a time of 01.08 seconds.
He also broke the 01.30 seconds record set at the National Paralympic Week Games (Peparnas in Riau Province) by posting a time of 01.08 seconds.
It can be recalled that Bejita had also broken the 01.30 seconds Riau Paparnas record in 2012 by completing the race in 01.08 seconds.
M Bejita broke the ASEAN record for the second time in the 50 meters back style S14 race, improving it from 00.35 seconds to 00.31 seconds.
"I am happy, thank God. These (two gold medals) are for my mother and father," he said after receiving the two gold medals next to the swimming pool of the Bandung based UPI University.
The 15th Peparnas games were opened by Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Imam Nahrawi here on Saturday (Oct 15).
A total of 1,983 disabled athletes and 718 officials from 33 provinces are participating in these games that will run till October 24 in the West Java city of Bandung.
The disabled athletes are competing in 13 sports disciplines, according to the general chairman of the Peparnas 2016, Ahmad Heryawan.(*)
