"We will build the facility on an area of 25 thousand square meters in Hang Nadim to accommodate international aircraft maintenance. We also include a number of leading MRO companies, including from Japan, to build a world-class MRO in Batam," President Director of PT. GMF, Juliandra Nurtjahjo, said here on Monday (Feb 20).
"We chose Batam, because it is a very strategic location and is very close to Singapore, the international aviation hub," he said, adding that another reason to build the MRO was the rapid growth in business and commerce sectors in Batam.
Currently, the construction of hangar is under evaluation and business feasibility. The construction is expected to start by the second half of 2017, and it would become operational by in the second half of 2018, Juliandra noted.
He hoped that the expansion conducted by GMF will encourage the companys vision to be among the worlds top 10 MRO businesses(*)
