Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - The Tasikmalaya authorities have recorded that six houses were damaged by an earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale on Monday.

"So far, six homes have been damaged due to the quake," Alfian, head of the Tasikmalaya disaster mitigation office, stated here, Monday.

The houses located in Naga Village, Salawu Sub-district, and Puspamukti Village in Puspahiang Sub-district incurred slight damage.

"The damage is categorized as minor," he remarked.

The tremor was felt by the residents of Bogor, Sumedang, Bajar, Pangandaran, Bandung, and Garut.

The earthquake, which did not trigger a tsunami, occurred on Monday at 1:01 a.m. local time.

The quakes epicenter was located at 8.10 degrees southern latitude and 107.86 degrees eastern longitude, 58 kilometers southwest of Tasikmalaya and at a depth of 13 kilometers.

In Garut, one home collapsed due to the earthquake, and the local authorities have presented assistance to the owner of the house.
