Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) chaired a limited meeting to discuss preparations for the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)-World Bank (WB), which will be held in Bali from Oct 8 to 14 next year.

The meeting will be one of the biggest events the country will host, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said following the limited meeting at the Presidential Office here on Wednesday.

"Therefore, at the meeting, the president sought detailed explanations on the preparations for the IMF-World Bank meeting, Asian Games, and simultaneous regional head election (in 2018)," he stated.

The IMF-World Bank meeting will bring together an estimated 15 thousand delegates, and some of the delegates are expected to bring their families to Bali during the event.

"The time difference between the Asian Games and the IMF-World Bank meeting is nearly one month. The Asian Games will be held from Aug 18 to Sept 2. Hence, 2018 will really be a very hectic year as 171 regions will also hold regional head elections," he noted.

Also in 2018, Indonesia will start making preparations for its legislative and presidential elections in 2019.

"Therefore, in Oct (next year), we will see who will run for the presidency and vice presidency," he remarked.(*)
