Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The number of airline passengers traveling from 13 airports during post-fasting Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran festivities in the country reached 5.18 million, up 5.55 percent from that in 2016, which was 4.91 million.

"The increase in the passengers indirectly indicated the increase in public trust in air transportation industry and improvement in the purchasing power of the people," President Director of state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I, Danang S Baskoro, stated in a written statement here on Thursday.

PT Angkasa Pura I is the operator of the 13 airports, whose air passengers increased by 5.55 percent during this years Lebaran festivities, which lasted from June 15 to July 3, 2017.

The 13 airports are I Gusti Ngurah Rai of Bali, Juanda of Surabaya, Sultan Hasanuddin of Makassar, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan of Balikpapan, Frans Kaisiepo of Biak, Sam Ratulangi of Manado, Syamsudin Noor of Banjarmasin, Ahmad Yani of Semarang, Adisutjipto of Yogyakarta, Adi Soemarmo of Surakarta, Internasional of Lombok Praya, Pattimura of Ambon, and El Tari of Kupang.(*)
