Kalla, as Chairman of the team that is often referred to as the TNP2K, led the main discussion on the handling of stunting through specific nutrition intervention specifically directed towards malnourished kids during the first thousand days of their lives, as malnourishment is often caused by sensitive nutrition intervention that is short-termed.
"We hope that the existing program would be executed precisely so that we can immediately overcome the issue of stunting in the country," he stated during the launch of the TNP2K meeting.
The meeting was attended by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Human Development Puan Maharani, Minister of Health Nila Moeloek, and Minister of Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Susi Pudjiastuti, Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions Eko Putro Sandjojo, and Minister of National Development Planning, who is also Chief of National Development Planning Agency Bambang Brodjonegoro, were also seen among the attendants of the meeting.
Furthermore, Head of the Presidential Staff Teten Masduki, Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency Surya Chandra Surapaty, and Director of World Bank Indonesia Rodrigo Chaves were also present.
The results of the meeting, which started at 2:30 p.m., will be reported to President Joko Widodo for further evaluation and directives.(*)
