Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Former lawmaker of the Commission II of the House of Representatives Miryam S Haryani was tried on Thursday on charge of false testimony.

Miryam withdrew her dossier, prepared by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) when she was investigated as a witness in an electronic IDS card corruption case at the special corruption court here earlier.

She told the court that she was forced by KPK investigators to make the testimony, but CCTV screen showed no sign of force used during the investigation.

Later the court summoned the three KPK investigators, who denied having to use force in the investigation of Miryam. On the contrary, one of the investigators said that Miryam told them that she was intimidated by a number of other lawmakers into hiding facts about the distribution of bribe fund among the lawmakers.

Miryam was implicated in the e-ID card corruption case for alleged role of distributing bribe money among the lawmakers.

Sugiharto already said earlier that he gave money to Miryam to be distributed among the lawmakers.

The judge had warned Miryam to tell only the truth and that she was facing criminal charge if giving false testimony.

Miryam is facing a jail term of up to 12 years and a fine of up to Rp600 million if found guilty by the court of giving false testimo9ny as charged by the KPK prosecutor.
