"The 163 Indonesian citizens have been deported from Turkey and have been sent to the Ministry of Social Affairs shelter. They were in groups when returning home," Minister of Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa said here on Friday.
She stated, after coordination with the National Polices Densus 88 counter-terrorism squad and National Counter-terrorism Agency (BNPT), that it was agreed to accommodate the Indonesians in the ministrys shelter as most of them were children.
She had visited the shelter and asked the management party to make a tree of hope for the children to write down their desired expectations.
"Ministry of Social Affairs has a shelter that protects children who are brought here," she remarked.
There were several programs being carried out in the shelter, including a counseling program to assist the children.
Meanwhile, there was a deradicalization program for mothers and fathers, and the resource persons of the program will be established by BNPT.
"Ministry of Social Affairs only provides shelter to the Indonesians who have been deported from Turkey," she explained.(*)
