Jakarta (ANTARA News) - British Commerce Representative for Indonesia, Richard Graham, has offered cooperation for Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta.

"We offer aids and provide anything, basically because of our experiences during Olympics 2012 and International Athletic," Graham stated after meeting Indonesian Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK) at the Vice Presidents Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Graham discussed the offers with Kalla, who is the Head Organizer of Asian Games 2018.

According to Graham, there are some British companies that have already signed the contracts and subcontracts with the Indonesia Asian Games Committee (INASGOC) to support the event, which would be held in Jakarta and Palembang from Aug 18 to Sept 2, 2018.

"There are various companies that have already signed the contracts and subcontracts, such as for Velodrome, which would aid the cycling event, and it was a British one," he remarked.

During the meeting with Kalla, Graham also stated that his part would work closer with INASGOC, in cooperation with the British Embassy in Jakarta, to look for other areas that require improvement.

He said that the first time he discussed Asian Games 2018 with Vice President was during his visit to London Sports Stadium in 2017.

Graham praised the newest development of the international sports event, which is the countdown event held in Jakarta on Aug 18.

"The countdown to Asian Games 2018 has already been done year before the day, and the event was really good," he added.(*)
