Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo won a champion title at China Open after beating Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen 21-19, 21-11 in the men`s doubles event of the BWF Badminton Super Series Premier championshion in Fuzhou, China, on Sunday.

As it had been predicted before the match between the first and second seeded men`s double pairs had gone very tight from the start.

"The first game was very tight. However we tried to keep focused. Our point collection has always been close until 20-19 but we could finally make it," Marcus said according to PBSI (the All Indonesia Badminton Association).

The two pairs have often met in championships so far and but the score of their meets so far was still 2-4 in favor of Boe/Mogensen.

"We kept studying their style because we have often lost to them. We have also trained harder and improvenment has been made. We have also reflected on our losses," he said.

With the victory Marcus/Kevin retained the same China Open title he won at the same tournament in 2016 also from Boe/Mogensen.
