The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on Wednesday saying that the test was "not in line with the spirit of creating peace and stability in the region and world."
The ballistic missile test conducted by North Korea was viewed as a violation of the UN Security Council Resolution numbers 2270 and 2321 of 2016 and 2356 and 2371 of 2017.
"Indonesia urges North Korea to fully abide by its international obligations, including implementing resolutions of the UN Security Council thoroughly," the ministry stated.
Indonesia emphasized that stability in the Korean Peninsula plays an important role, and the Southeast Asian country has called on all nations to contribute to creating peace in the peninsula.
Reuters reported that North Korea fired a ballistic missile that landed close to Japan on Wednesday.
Japan`s government has estimated that the missile flew for some 50 minutes and landed in the sea in the country`s exclusive economic zone, Japanese broadcaster NHK revealed.
