Luhut attended three bilateral meetings in that country starting with a meeting with Qatari Emire Sheik Tamin bin Hamad Al Thani on Doha on Sunday.
The meetings were focused on investment plan by Qatar in Indonesia, according to a press release issued here on Monday.
The other two meetings were with Finance Minister Ali Shareef Al Emadi, who is also secretary general of the Supreme Council of Economic Affairs and Investment, and Deputy Prime Minister Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, who is also Defense Minister and a lunch with the secretary general of Foreign Ministry.
The Indonesia delegates include Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar M. Basri Sidehabi, Special Envoy for Middle East and OIC Alwi Shihab, West Nusa Tenggara Governor Zainul Majdi, Deputy for Maritime Sovereignty Arif Havas Oegroseno, and Director of Middle East at the Foreign Ministry Sunarko.
"West Nusa Tenggara Governor is included in the delegation as the Qatari investors plan to invest in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK)," Luhut said.
He said Qatari investors want to invest in the Mandalika KEK and in the expansion of the runway pf the Lombok International Airport to 3,000 meters.
Luhut discuss Bilateral Investment Treaty between Indonesia-Qatar, development of agricultural sector in Kalimantan,development of aquaculture in Sabang, and tourism cooperation. He also asked for Qatari support for Asian Games in Indonesia next year.
On request of Qatar about cooperation in agricultural development, Luhut promised to prepare lands.
"We will prepare lands in Central Kalimantan perhaps around around 100,000 hectares," he said.
The visit by Luhut was in return of one by a technical team from the Qatari government to study potential investment in Indonesia.
"I think all talks have run well with agreement. On December 27, they will send a team to Indonesia," he said.
