The three agencies are the Director General of Demography and Vital Statistics at the Home Affairs Ministry, the Director General of Immigration at the Law and Human Rights Ministry, and the Anti-Trafficking Task Force at the National Police Investigation Department (Bareskrim).
Foreign Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi presented the awards to representatives of the three agencies at Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel here on Tuesday.
Last year, the ministry also presented the same award to the Attorney General`s Office.
In addition to the three agencies, the ministry also presented the award to four agencies/individuals.
The seven criterion necessary to receive HWPA include that the awardees must be the ministry`s working partners, Indonesian foreign missions` working partners, non-governmental organizations/civil societies abroad, chiefs of Indonesian missions abroad, media/journalists, and regional governments.
HWPA was for the first time given to agencies/individuals in 2015.
Rafendi Djamin, human rights and democracy activist, remarked that HWPA has been able to improve public awareness on the importance to protect Indonesian citizens.
Djamin, a member of the jury council, revealed that during the event, the ministry conferred an award on a person who had dedicated his life to protect Indonesian citizen abroad.
"By presenting the awards, we can find many people who have dedicated their life to protect Indonesian citizens spread in various parts of the world,? Yuni Chuzaifah, a member of the jury council and member of the National Commission for Women, pointed out.
