"I hope he can support the DPR to be more productive in establishing regulations. The DPR should be a better legislative institution," Kalla stated here on Tuesday.
He added that Soesatyo should improve the performance of DPR, so that people would continue to trust the institution.
The better performance could restore the image of DPR among the people.
"It can improve the trust and create budget efficiency," Kalla remarked.
Soesatyo was appointed as the Chairman of DPR, replacing Setya Novanto, who was allegedly involved in the identity card corruption case.
He plans to enhance the basic functions of DPR as a legislative and monitoring council.
Soesatyo revealed that the functions must be implemented in parallel. He also plans to enhance the task and authority of the Council Honorary Court.
