Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) confirmed that he will witness the total lunar eclipse event or super blue blood moon on Wednesday night.

"What is clear is that I will watch it in the sky. It is not possible (to watch it) on the ground. It is in the sky; watching (the phenomenon) in the sky," the president noted while answering questions posed by reporters after opening a Trade Ministry`s working meeting at the State Palace here on Wednesday.

However, the president did not reveal details of the location from where he would watch the total lunar eclipse event.

According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the super blue blood moon eclipse in western Indonesia will start at around 5:50 p.m. Western Indonesia Standard time (WIB) and end at 11:10 p.m. WIB. Its peak is forecast to occur at 8:30 p.m. WIB.

Indonesians, including those in Jakarta, can still witness the rare phenomenon despite the cloudy weather and rain.

The BMKG estimates that Jakarta will experience rain, with a cloud cover of about 62 percent.

According to the BMKG, total lunar eclipse can be observed from all regions in Indonesia, ranging from Sabang in the westernmost part to Merauke in the easternmost part of the country.
