Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta government will install some 60 thousand closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras across the capital city, including in residential areas, to prevent molestation in particular.

"We want to install 60 thousand CCTV cameras all over Jakarta. Now, we only have six thousand, or 10 percent. One of the objectives is to make Jakarta safe and not only smart," Deputy Governor of Jakarta Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno stated here, Wednesday.

Recently, a woman identified by her initials as DKY was molested by an unidentified man while she was on her way to a nearby kiosk. She was grabbed by the man, who covered her eyes and squeezed her breasts from behind.

The crime was recorded by a CCTV camera installed in her kampong located in Cipinang, East Jakarta.

She reported the crime to the Police that later managed to arrest the suspect with the initial R.
