Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Asian Games 2018 organizing committee (INASGOC) said the Athlete guesthouses organizer follows the provisions of the Asian Olympic Committee (OCA) for the procurement and not to procure facilities in guesthouse of the athletes and officials.

"Indeed, some facilities are not provided in the room, but it all follows the standards of the OCA," director of athlete guesthouses affairs department of INASGOC, Tri Ananta Andrewan said here on Wednesday.

Andrewan`s remarks related to complaint from some dwellers of the athletes` guesthouses due to the absence of some facilities in rooms such as television sets, refrigerators and dispensers.

According to him, the absence of such facilities, because OCA has determined these belong to be the shared facilities and placed in a common room.

"So we set (the rooms) as per the Olympic standard or the Asian Games. The purpose of OCA is that the athletes can have rest and focus to compete in the next game. Thus, the athletes and contingents could get together and mingle among athletes from different countries," he disclosed.

In addition, Andrewan said at time of implementation of the Asian Games 2018, the dining hall will be located outside towers of the Athlete guesthouses in the form of a large tent. Later, dining hall is expected to accommodate about 4,000 people.

With regard to services, the organizing committee personnel are currently conducting surveys and the results will be announced after being reported to the INASGOC Chairman, Erick Thohir and the Steering Committee chairman, Jusuf Kalla.

The INASGOC has provided seven guesthouse towers that can accommodate around 16 thousand people, located in Kemayoran area in Central Jakarta.

Indonesia will organize the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and South Sumatran Provincial capital city of Palembang from August 18 to Sept 2, 2018.
